Create keyboard shortcuts for Chrome extensions

How to force Ctrl+Tab or other key combinations to work

Option 1 with PowerToys

Set the extension shortcut ie. Ctrl + Shift + 1

Install PowerToys from the official GitHub or Microsoft Store.

Open PowerToys → Go to Keyboard Manager.

Click “Remap a shortcut”.

Add the custom mapping (e.g., remap Ctrl + tab > Ctrl + Shift + 1)

Option 2 with AutoHotKey

I use the software AutoHotKey to capture any key combination and convert it to another one that extension can recognize ie. Ctrl+Shift+1 and then set Ctrl+Shift+1 in the extension shortcut keys.

Why is there a beeping sound when tabbing?

This happens with certain key combinations on certain machines/operating system, try changing the key combinations in the options of the extension
