Missing microphone icon

Whenever I record with sound, the microphone icon is missing.
Is this a bug with the extension or Chrome itself?

Are you clicking the microphone icon when you initiate the recording via the menu?
Yes, I do! If I don't click that icon, I don't get to see the missing microphone icon.
The other option is to try changing the audio input in the extension options.
Doesn't make a difference which audio input I choose, the microphone icon is always missing.
Do other apps or software work with your microphone?
Have you tired restarting the computer?
Never mind, I just tested Screencastify Chrome extension I am also not seeing an icon there.
Must be something related to either my system or Chrome itself!
