Repeat Notification sound (minor issue and question)

I'm not sure exactly how the Repeat Notification setting is supposed to work. I assumed it meant that if the notification is dismissed by clicking the X it would pop up again but that isn't what happens. Apparently the setting only affects the alert sound. Can you explain (or is there detailed explanation elsewhere), exactly what the setting affects and how? 

Also I had an issue with it when it was turned on in that the alert sound kept repeating even after the notification was dismissed by clicking delete. Is this a bug, or simply an oddity of design, because my my estimation it's not expected behavior. I would think the sound should stop once the notification is dealt with, unless closed via the X. Thank you.

    The repeat notification was recently added after multiple suggestions that as long as you have any unread emails, that the notification sound and icon animation should be repeated.

    Ah! Then may I suggest that there be an option added that once the notification is dismissed by an action that the alert stop sounding. That seems to make more sense to me since many of us really don't care how many unread emails are in our inbox so long as the important ones are addressed. Yeah, I'm a digital slob but I never miss anything truly important, and I know I'm not the only one. Thanks!

    BTW, I noticed you took another user's last name off the forum. If that could be done for me as well, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Perhaps the repeat notification option is not for you, but rather more for the zero inbox users.

    Perhaps. I was only thinking of a simple option in the control panel. "Stop when notification is dismissed." But if that is too much right now it would be nice if the following text were included in the current option:

    "Will repeat until there are no unread emails in the inbox."

    Honestly, this is the first time I've ever heard an audible alert sound after the visible notification is dismissed so it didn't make much sense to me.

    Anyway, thank you very much for the prompt responses and fantastic extensions! Keep up the great work! I've been inspired to contribute as soon as I can!
