Notification dropdown does not expand all unread emails in a conversation

I'm noticing that if several emails come in on the same conversation, only last one is opened in the notification dropdown.  This causes me to sometimes miss the fact that someone else replied before hand.  Is there a setting to control this? If I go directly to gmail, I see all the unread ones opened.

Comments

  • in the notifications window at the bottom? or at the top popup window when clicking the button?

When you click on the button in the toolbar.  All the items regardless of read or unread, except for the bottom one are collapsed.  It's burned me a couple of times now.

wow, thank you, you just signaled a big issue, after further investigation it seems in the latest updates i accidentally removed the individual times of the conversations and that's what is causing this collapsing issue. It will be fixed in the next version and this is what it should look like with the times being displayed and appropriately collapsed or not etc.

  • Cool.  Glad I could help.  Your extension makes Gmail much more usable.  How will I know when the update is release?

Good question :) You just gave me an idea, currently update notifications are displayed in the extension but only for "major" updates, in the next version I will add an option to allow users to opt-in for "minor" updates also :)  ... which would include this current bug fix.

But for now just keep an eye for the date/times of the individual conversations to appear in the popup (like in my screenshot) once they appear the fix should be in place, my estimate is about week - more info on my extension updates more info here http://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Extension_Updates

Nice. I thought I would have to manually updated it.  Very nice work.  I'm a developer as well and appreciate your hard work.  I just donated as well.  How could I not? :)
  • Thanks.  Looks good.  Nice job.
