accountWithNewestMail is not defined

Hello!

I am trying to have only the desktop notification, but currently it is not working. Instead I get the message in the attached: accountWithNewestMail is not defined. I am not quite sure how to fix this. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ryan

Can you send me the error logs: https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Error_logs

and let me know which action you are taking on this options page that is producing this error.

The error appears when I hit the bell for testing out the Rich notification.

Hope this is an acceptable way of sending the error logs. :)

  • Good catch, ok i'll be pushing out a fix for this, thanks for the details.

  • Ok v25.0.10 is out you can force the update with this: https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Extension_Updates

  • Thanks! I have updated. On my side, now hitting the bell for testing the Rich notification doesn't actually yield any result; nothing happens.

  • Ok now we can go through this list of common issues/solutions: https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Notifications_are_not_working

  • The button does shake when I get a new email, but no desktop notification. When one clicks that bell beside Desktop Notifications (under the Notifications tab), what is actually supposed to happen?

  • Which OS are you using?

After performing the test and nothing happens, can you send me the error logs again: https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Error_logs

A restart of the computer helped in one respect: now clicking the bells beside Desktop Notifications results in an example of such notifications.

However, when an actual new email comes in, the extension button shakes, but no desktop notification, and no sound. I am monitoring the correct labels, and each checkbox by each monitored label is also checked.

    OS 14.3.1

Ok let's reinstall the extension and use the default settings - do not restore any options or change any options.

Then perform a test by sending yourself an email.

  • Did so. And the desktop notification and sound work...

  • Ok so everything is working now?

  • It is—but I have simply reinstalled, and not restored or changed any options. Try that now, and then send another test email?

  • No - now we'll have to slowly determine which setting created the conflict. Change 1 setting a time manually - but don't use the restore button. Then keep testing between until you find the issue.

I have done so, changing options one at a time, and testing along the way. All my options are where I'd like them now, and the notifications work fine. Stumped as to what the issue was, but I'll take this! Thanks!

Edit: Actually, I think there was once in the test where it stopped working, but I believe this is because I had Gmail open, as well as the option page for the extension. I tried again after that, with both tabs closed, and it worked fine...
