Can't remove notification sound

Some time ago (I think two years or so) I added a custom sound for my notifications. After a while that sound started to annoy me and I wanted to remove it, but everything I did was useless: I tried switching off notification sounds in the addon and in Windows, tried to remove custom sounds, I tried everything I could think about, but that sound still haunts me. What else can I do to get rid of that?

Thank you in advance for your help and time.

  • In the extension options Admin tab there is a reset sounds button, but if all else fails you can try reinstalling the extension.

  • I tried both, with no results.

  • If you uninstalled the extension there should be no way the custom sound was "remembered" unless you had the extension installed under another browser such as Edge etc or perhaps several profiles.

  • The "several profiles" might be the problem. I'll try uninstalling it from every profile then. I'll let you know how it goes.

  • I removed the extension from all my profiles in all my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Brave), but the custom sound still rings everytime I open any of them.

  • Lol, that is a lot of browsers, are you a developer or tester?

Well logically if you are hearing the custom sounds, it means it physically still exists on your computer - because the sound is sourced locally from the extension files. Unless you are using another Gmail extension.

  • No, I'm just a guy with some trouble with decision-making, and had to try many browsers before setting for Chrome (which isn't perfect, but it's good). I'm going to check if that soundclip is anywhere in my PC then.
