Edge Notification Delete Button not working

Windows 10 Pro (latest build)

Edge Version 94.0.992.38 (Official build) (64-bit) (latest)

Deleting works fine from the pop-out from the icon, but from the bottom notification doesnt seem to work.

Comments

  • They should perform the same logical actions, you can refer to this https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Emails_not_being_deleted_or_marked_as_read

  • Logged out and back in. Didnt work.

Uninstalled and Reinstalled the ext. Didnt work.

I guess it's probably the Windows notification showing at the bottom, not the one from the ext.

Here's a video of it happening:

  • There might be a slight delay after using the notification button when deleting the email, is that perhaps it?

or than that you said you tested it in chrome and did work?

what about the other button actions, do they work?

  • Tried it again with Edge and then waited 20 minutes and the email is still there in the fly-out from the icon.

The "Mark as Read' does not function either.

The same notification when generated from Chrome, both buttons work fine. While leaving Chrome open, but the ext on DND. With Edge open, the notifications from Edge work. If I exit Chrome completely or disable the extension only in Chrome, the Edge notifications no longer work again.

  • I haven't been able to replicate the issue, I'm curious what happens if you click on the email subject in the notification, does it at least open up the email in your browser?

  • Nothing happens when I click on the subject from the Edge notification.

From the notification spawned by Chrome it opens a new tab to that exact message.

I should note, I installed the extension from the Microsoft Edge store and did not "side load" it from the Chrome store. But I'm guessing the code is nearly identical.

  • It's pretty strange issue as the notification seems completely detached from the extension.

Did you try restarting the computer?

or lastly try creating a new test profile https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Corrupt_browser_profile

  • Many restarts. I dont remember the last time it worked.

Made a new profile in Edge. Same issue.

Installed the Chrome store version into Edge and that pop-up doesnt have buttons on it, it's just notification (probably a security limitation).

Again, the Edge notification works perfectly fine, IF I have chrome open with the same extension running.

    Oh well, good luck.
