Show minutes until the event in the notification

I have these settings for the reminder before the event:

1 minute before each event

5 minutes before each event

10 minutes before each event

A lot of the times I'm not aware if notification is 10 min before or 1 min before.

Would be great if there would be a way to add the "minutes before" to the notification content.

I'm using Manjaro i3 Linux, and this is how my test popups look:

Text notification: https://i.imgur.com/Cdnk0jc.png

I assume there are some additional limitations due to Linux, but adding the minutes as text to the content should always do the trick.

I'm not sure if I can somehow help on this, but since I'm a developer, if you point me where I can contribute, I'll try adding this myself.

  • So the default setting notification .. popup window (not rich or text notification) offers a lot more space and therefore details such as the time left to the event and as well a hover over that to see all the reminder times for that event.

  • Popup window is too distracting for me, especially since I use i3wm, which makes the popup open up at half of the screen (If Chrome is the only thing on my workspace).

  • I understand, so the difficulty with the rich/text notifications is the updating their dynamic content such as the time, it would require the notification to be removed and retoast just to present the new update remaining time. I'll queue it for investigation though.

  • Thanks, let me know if I can help.
