Recent Tabs new permissions

This happened today with Windows 10 Chrome Version 90.0.4430.72 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Is this a valid permissions change? If yes, why is it necessary for switching tabs?

I like this extension a lot.

  • You probably can Google this one as it's a general issue with the "tabs" permission required for extensions to list the currently opened tab, obviously the warning is an overreach. Note that these permissions always existed, sometimes extension updates for some repushes this warning. Regardless I encourage you to read the reviews reverse engineer any code and do whatever you have to validate. Note my most recent update was just to remove extra console logs: https://jasonsavard.com/forum/discussion/6770/recent-tabs-console-log#latest

  • Thanks for the quick response, Jason.
