Native Notifications Not Working on Latest Chrome 85.0.4183.83 Update?

I prefer the Native Chrome Notifications over the Mac notifications on my computer, but it appears to not be an option any longer in the latest Chrome  85.0.4183.83 update?

Am I missing something here?

Per this Reddit post, it also appears to be the case - https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/igi6n7/chrome_85_has_been_released_to_stable_channel/

  • That's quite possible Chrome places features under Chrome flags which they or you can change. They may choose to remove them at any time.

Yeah we are stuck with Windows 10 notifications at least for now. Who knows if we can get the old non-native ones back eventually.

  • If anyone stumbles on a fix for this in OSX please do post. The Rich Notification feature from checker plus was awesome, but now one can only use OSX's native notifications which are far inferior.

I've followed the steps in (https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Notifications_are_not_working) but had no luck since the new Chrome update.

  • @Alberto Rizzoli - Yes, it's a huge pain and the OSX native notifications are terrible, so I just downgraded my Chrome Browser to version 80 (I know, not recommended) and shut off Chrome updates and that works for the time being. I wish Chrome wouldn't do stuff like this and I wonder if other browsers like Brave do this?
