Unknown Internal Error

Since I updated Chrome to 84, Checker Plus for Gmail does not load email and is giving the following "UnknownError: Internal error opening backing store for indexedDB.open."

I uninstalled, reinstalled...cleared cache, etc. Nothing is working.

Please advise.

  • Follow this to solve this issue, usually a reboot works https://jasonsavard.com/wiki/Corrupt_browser_profile

  • I keep getting this error as well, maybe every month or two? On Chrome for Windows 10, I was able to finally fix it by:

    1) Remove Checker Plus Extension and close all Gmail tabs in Chrome

    2) Go to [PROFILE]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB

    2a) Remove "chrome-extension_oeopbcgkkoapgobdbedcemjljbihmemj_0.indexeddb.leveldb" folder

    2b) Remove "https_mail.google.com_0.indexeddb.leveldb" folder

    3) Go to [PROFILE]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\databases and remove "https_mail.google.com_0" folder

    4) Make sure extension folder "oeopbcgkkoapgobdbedcemjljbihmemj" is removed from

    [PROFILE]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

    5) Restart Chrome and Reinstall Checker Plus from the Chrome store

Hopefully this will help someone else, or help me in a few months when I don't remember what I did to make it work last time ;)
