Fx Sync for Checker Plus?

Any plans to turn this on for gmail, calendar?  Apparently web storage api is working now...

Comments

  • I'm a bit confused here.... you're saying that in order to sync settings with Fx you need to install and login to Chrome?
  • Sorry what is Fx? I only support Chrome and Firefox
  • Fx is the abbreviation for Firefox
  • Hmm so it looks like Firefox supports the sync api i am using in Chrome
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/storage/sync
just ignore the Chrome wording in the options > admin
    does it work?
  • When I press SAVE, I get no messages.  When I press LOAD OPTIONS, I get a popup message which says:

"error loading options, could not find any synced data"
"make sure you sign into chrome on your other computer and this one"

  • and just checking, are you are also signed into your Firefox?
  • Yes, I'm logged in...
  • Can you send me the error logs after you try saving.

Not really sure how to do that... your instructions are for Chrome.  I did turn on console logging

  • great details, thank you, I found the issue and it will be fixed in the next update (not v21.0.9 but after) as I just pushed that yesterday.
  • Excellent.  Good news.  Thanks!
  • Just loaded the update and appears to work fine.  The one thing I noticed however, is after you press save, you get a popup that says:  "Done.  Make sure you are signed into Chrome for the sync to complete."  It then has a "More Info" button which takes you to a Chrome page.

Probably should make it more of a generic message, not associated with a browser, like you did with the message of:  "via signed in browser user".

As far as the More Info - not sure how you want to handle this... but FYI, the corresponding link for Firefox would be:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/access-mozilla-services-firefox-accounts

  • great advice, will be part of the next update, thanks.
