Incorrect signature used

Hi, I have two gmail accounts - one is gmail, one is a google apps account. The gmail one is ignored in Checker Plus. When I reply to an email received at the google apps one, the signature used in that email is actually being pulled from the first gmail account. Any idea how this can be fixed?

Thanks.

  • Which method are you using to reply? Can you send me a screenshot of the issue?
  • Hi,

'Click here to reply' is where I type in the reply. The sent mail shows up in the proper mailbox but it is using the signature from my other email account.
  • I'm not able to replicate this issue.
Can you confirm the account from which you are replying to the email is definitely the "google apps" account because in my instance, i am crossing email between my gmail and google apps account so sometimes i have the same emails in both my accounts and depending "from" which account i reply in the popup, i will see or not see the signature (since i have setup different signatures in my gmail and google apps.

note: however there have been other signature issues such as this http://jasonsavard.com/forum/discussion/comment/206#Comment_206 and i'm assuming this "could" be a gmail issue but not confirmed yet.
  • Yes I can confirm its the google apps account I am using to reply.

I can do a screencast later.

Can you do a bunch of little tests for me and try "replying" each time and letting me know if the correct signature is being pulled.

    1) Can you try not ignoring any accounts?
    2) Then you can try just signing into "just" your gmail account?
    3) Can you verify your signature in the Settings of the Basic HTML view, for your 1st account you get there by clicking https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/h/  and then visiting the settings.
    4) Can you verify your signature in the Settings of the Basic HTML view, for your 2nd account you get there by clicking https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/h/  and then visiting the settings.
  • Oh...the basic html view has a different signature from my enhanced view of the same google apps account. And it is the same signature on my other account, the gmail one.

I actually have two signatures setup under enhanced view but only the second one shows up in basic html view.

Thanks for helping me spot that. I will then remove the second signature as I don't need it any longer.
  • Ok great feedback, this would seem to be a Gmail bug though. I'll forward my users to this thread in the future, thanks again.
  • Thank you Jason.
