notification quirk

When I am on Gmail's page checking mail the notification goes off every time the amount of email decreases. Where in the settings can I change this? I want it to go off with new mail arrives but makes no sense for it to go off as I read each mail.

So that behaviour should not be happening, try uninstalling reinstalling the extension "without" changing any extension options and let me know if the issue still exists

I uninstalled and reinstalled the extension. I didn't change any settings within the extension. I sent myself an email and when I clicked on it the counter disappears and doesn't keep going off when I read the email.

Will see how it goes over the next few days.
